Welcome to ART 232 // Painting II, an advanced studio course offered during the Spring semester at Holyoke Community College. I’m Raishad J. Glover, and I’ll be your instructor this term. Building on the foundations established in Painting I, this course emphasizes deeper conceptual thinking, expanded material exploration, and the development of a more focused and intentional painting practice through both traditional and experimental approaches.

You are encouraged to engage fully with each project, as assignments are designed to challenge your technical abilities while supporting the growth of your individual artistic voice. If you have questions or need to connect with me outside of class, you may reach me by phone at 870-725-4391 or via email at rglover@hcc.edu.

To support your success, please make full use of the resources on this course page. The Course Information section outlines expectations, policies, and requirements, while Course Assignments provides detailed descriptions of all projects and deadlines. Supplemental demonstrations and contextual material can be found in the Video Presentations section to further enrich your studio practice.

All completed work should be submitted through the Assignment Turn-In Form provided. I’m excited to work with you this semester and look forward to supporting your continued growth and exploration in Painting II.
